What's up with the salty title?
Good question. One of the more fascinating books I have read, Salt (Mark Kurlansky), chronicles the world history of this substance we know simply as Salt. Few substances have impacted life on earth as deeply as salt, humans for one would be long gone without it. Born into all cultures around the globe, salt cultivation led to the rise of empires as well as retaining religious significance. It's all encompassing, like this blog.
